My first in-home Atlanta Newborn Twin Session of 2023 is officially in the books! What a great morning it was meeting & documenting the Simpson family & identical twin girls + big sister in their Atlanta home. This Atlanta lifestyle newborn twin session was definitely unforgettable! We captured timeless memories that’ll be cherished for many, many years.

Getting Mom Ready & Pampered:

My fabulous Atlanta hair & makeup artist, Paula arrived a few hours beforehand to help mama get ready. I know how difficult it is to get yourself & everyone else ready for portraits after having a baby. However, having THREE under the age of 3 is a whole new level of chaos, so Paula truly was a sanity saver!

The Nursery:

The nursery for this Atlanta lifestyle newborn twin session was classic & timeless. It was decorated with a rose pink grasscloth wallpaper from Serena & Lilly (wallpaper link here), Serena & Lily floral drapes (fabric link here) & matching Jenny Lind cribs (crib link here). I always encourage families for in-home newborn sessions that “less is more”. Trust me, over decorated & cluttered spaces take away from the focus on the sweet new baby & family. Honestly, simplicity is key!

Older Siblings:

The twins also have a big sister who is only three years old. So, I knew I would have to start with the whole family and then as many portraits with big sister as possible before she is over the picture-taking process. When older siblings are involved, they are THE BOSS! If older siblings aren’t ready for portraits, thats totally okay. Older siblings will eventually warm up & want to be a part of what’s going on. Most importantly, that’s when my personal experience of being a mom of two & many years as an elementary teacher comes in handy.

Follow the Light:

After starting portraits in the twins’ nursery, we traveled to the family’s bathroom… yes, the master bathroom. The light in their stunning master bathroom was just the perfect little spot to document mama & her little girls. I always tell families we will follow the light during in-home newborn sessions. So, be prepared to move around the home to find the best pockets of light, whether in the nursery, bathroom, hallway, or closet. Families trust my vision & expertise when choosing the perfect spot.
