Milton, Georgia Six-Month Milestone Session

There’s nothing I love more than documenting growing families and witnessing the seasons of their lives. It would be tough to pick a favorite type of session: from maternity to newborns, family, and children milestone sessions. They’re all such a joy for me! But in my years so far as a North Atlanta family photographer, I have to say, there have certainly been a few sessions that stand out in my memories. I know Evelyn’s Milton, Georgia six-month milestone session will always be one of them!

This session was so special to me. Not just because little miss Evelyn is the sweetest (look at her!), or because her parents are such a dream to work with (that helps!) It’s because this six-month milestone session represents the style and aesthetic I love creating with Grace Emily Photography.

A Six-Month Milestone Session With Style

I like watching the trends emerge in the worlds of style, fashion, and photography as much as anyone. But when it comes to Grace Emily Photography and the priceless images I create for my clients, I focus on simple, timeless, and southern style.

Personal Details & Moments

The star of this session was Evelyn, of course! However, the little details and moments that we captured in her six-month milestone session are some of what makes me fall in love with her images every time I look at them.

Those personal moments and details are at the heart of what I love doing with Grace Emily Photography. Sessions are about more than taking pictures. For me, it’s about helping families document timeless and priceless memories that generations will appreciate forever.

For me, the loving gazes shared between Evelyn and her mama, Morgan, are just as precious as an adorable shot of Evelyn looking into the camera. Documenting Evelyn wearing her heirloom smocks (more on those, below!) is so powerful and memorable, knowing that I’m photographing pieces of their family history. 

Clients Become Friends

One of the best parts of documenting families over the years is getting to know them! So many clients become dear friends, and it’s such a pleasure to have this role in memorializing their special moments. 

Evelyn’s mom, Morgan, has become a dear friend of mine as we’ve met for her maternity session, Evelyn’s newborn session, and now another exciting milestone! 

With her Grace Emily Photography Membership, Morgan’s enjoyed full sessions at important moments in her family. Each of her sessions has included at least 40+ images, and with this one, she got more than 90! The membership has given her four full sessions, covering her maternity shoot (with Evelyn in her belly!), newborn, and six-month milestone session so far! 

Personal Style

I’ve loved working with Morgan for many reasons, including her beautiful style and vision. Morgan’s style is perfection: classic and timeless. It’s a dream to collaborate with her and share such similar tastes. 

Morgan’s eye for beautiful details can be seen in the gorgeous smocks Evelyn wore in her Milton, Georgia, six-month milestone session. The smocks were unique family heirlooms, handmade by Morgan’s mom. Morgan wore the same smocks when she was a baby! Seeing Evelyn wear pieces created with love and treasured by multiple family generations was heartwarming. 

Getting Mom In the Photos

As a mom with a little one, and a photographer at that, I know how challenging it can be for moms to step out from behind the camera. That’s why I encourage moms to take part in their babies’ milestone photos!

Morgan and Evelyn share a special bond now that will only blossom and strengthen as they grow together as mother and daughter. Someday, they’ll look back at the images from this session and reflect on the early days of their beautiful relationship. Evelyn will get to see the warm and loving new mother she was in these years, and Morgan will get to relive the moments she treasures with her baby.

To sweeten this session even more, Morgan’s mom (Evelyn’s grandmother) was able to join them! Getting to document meaningful moments shared by multiple generations is such an honor for me because I know how much Morgan and Evelyn’s family will adore these images for years to come. With photos featuring grandmother, mother, and daughter, future generations will have powerful keepsakes to cherish forever. 

I could truthfully go on all day about how much I enjoyed photographing Evelyn for her Milton, Georgia six-month milestone session. Her images say it all, though! This session was a dream for me, working with such an incredible family, sweet babe, and sharing the style and details so important to me.
